International network on parliament engagement launched

Date

Together with the UK House of Commons, the Centre for Democratic Engagement has launched the International Parliament Engagement Network (IPEN), which has an online platform hosting discussions, documents and online seminars.  IPEN brings together over 160 academics and practitioners specialising on public engagement, and hopes to act as a hub for reflection and the sharing of practice and research across the world. Its first online seminar took place in early July 2020, about public engagement with parliament during the covid-19 pandemic, with two more since then on online deliberative democracy tools and on the evaluation of impact of public engagement on law-making. IPEN plans further online seminars in the Autumn of 2020, whilst discussions carry on during the summer.
