From campaign to real change – Prof Leston-Bandeira leads workshop with young people

In collaboration with climate change charity Hope for The Future, Professor Leston-Bandeira ran a workshop for young people, which was selected to be part of the 2021 ESRC festival of Social Sciences. The workshop aimed to demonstrate to young people how they can campaign for change, namely through the use of petitions to parliament, drawing from Professor Leston-Bandeira's research. The event was developed in the context of COP26 and focused on campaigning to address climate change. It was attended by pupils from five secondary schools from the Wickersley Partnership Trust in South Yorkshire. Feedback was extremely positive with one teacher saying "The students really felt fired up to start campaigning for change and they now understand what the concept means more clearly.”
