Hansard as a research tool - finding patterns, making links

This event will introduce the Hansard at Huddersfield website and explain the rationale behind it as well as suggesting how it might be of interest to researchers in fields where political data is relevant. We are corpus linguists, but we have long believed that our techniques should be available to researchers beyond our discipline, without those researchers having to develop expertise in using the (often complex) software. We developed this site because standard ways to access Hansard are limited in their searchability. The presentation will include some case studies to demonstrate potential routes through the site.
